Stevie's life is an unpredictable mess -- a fact she casually credits to her mother and father's excessive lifestyle. She teases him, but the only attention she is able to receive from anyone comes from his gaze. When the family moves to a German country town, the girl hopes that at last she will have a normal and regular family life. The German title, meaning misbehaving or unruly children, provides an added flavour to the milieu of this film.
